Let’s Hope He Won’t Be Wearing a Meat Dress
The tweetosphere is all achirp with news of the new Joel David Moore film. Joel, aka Grant Cogswell in Grassroots, will be one of the stars of David R. Ellis’s very classy-sounding Shark Night 3D, the heartwarming tale of a group of pals who find themselves on the menu when they vacation at a freshwater Louisiana lake which has been stocked – unbeknownst to them, of course – with a school of slavering, bloodthirsty sharks. Ellis previously directed Snakes on a Plane, so this is a complete and utter departure for him. What, you thought he was that guy from Hamlet? Anyway, it sounds like a black lagoon full of fun…in other news, Cobie Smulders’ squeeze and Groundlings member Taran Killam has been named to the cast of Saturday Night Live, which ought to be a great gig. But a long commute from LA, where How I Met Your Mother is just about to launch its 6th season. Among other guest starring roles, Killam previously played Jimmy the overly touchy-feely orderly on Scrubs…Meanwhile Lauren Ambrose, who stars as Phil Campbell’s girlfriend and future wife in Grassroots, joins Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd in the high-profile comedy Wanderlust, about a city couple who stop at a rustic bed and breakfast which turns out to be a pot-smoking nudist colony. Ambrose plays a resident hippie. Go Lauren.
