Ron has been designing costumes professionally since 1975 when he began his career in theatre. He worked under the talents of Barbara Matera of New York and spent four years at Walt Disney World as their Assistant Costume Designer for entertainment.

Ron has an extensive background in costume history and construction, art history, fashion, and design for the theatre, film, and television, demonstrated in his varied film and television credits.

He has worked side by side with the extraordinary talents of fellow costume designers Patricia Norris and James Acheson. Those design credits include One False Move, Smoke Signals, What the Bleep Do We Know? Hotel Room, Rose Red, Diary of Ellen Rimbauer, Boy Culture, Expiration Date, and Valley of Light.

He has worked with the diverse talents of David Lynch, Bill D’Elia, Carl Franklin, Billy Bob Thornton, Gretchen Mol, Alan Arkin, Dolly Parton, Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis Jr., and Stanley Tucci.

Ron sits on the advisory board for Washington Film Works the board of the University of Washington School of Drama. He belongs to the Costume Designer’s Guild and IATSE Local 488. Most recently he shared a costume designer credit on the Korea film Late Autumn.
